My dad looking on with the crowd!
When I was in elementary school my dad took us out school to go to the championship parades for the Dallas Cowboys after they won their Superbowls. Well lets just say its been a loooong time since we went to a championship parade in Dallas.
Honestly I am such a basketball fan (I think its their shoulders, haha) and also such a Mavs team. I have a soft spot for the underdogs. I can’t say anything that the sports commentators haven’t already said a hundred times now. I can say that living most of my life in Dallas I am so proud to see such a deserving humble team bring the championship trophy to Dallas!
The parade was a complete blast! We road public transportation to avoid all of the road closures downtown and learned what the phrase “packed in like sardines” really means. I have been in better smelling places. My boyfriend came with me and my dad and can I just say he is quiet the hustler. We were “gettin in where we fit in”, literally. The crowd was well behaved and although the temps were nearing the 100’s and we were all seriously roasting. I think the highlight of the parade was Dirk Nowitzski. The look on his face reminded me of kid on Christmas. He even sang Queen “We are the Champions”. It was hot, sweaty, crowded and crazy and we loved every minute of it.
